Spring Break Countdown

Guest Speaker
We have a wonderful guest coming to visit us tomorrow. Keith Davis, a former professional football player, will be with us and he will have the opportunity to speak to students. He will certainly be a great motivator for all of us! He will speak to the older students about drug and alcohol awareness. High School students will hear from both Keith and his wife about relationships. Please email with any questions.

Battle of the Books
For students who have already signed up for Battle of the Books, there will be a meeting on March 7th before school at 7:30 am in the Family Room. At the meeting, we will go over sample questions, some details about the competition, and answer any other questions there may be. Participants are not required to attend but it is a good time for teams to meet and discuss the competition.

Lockdown Drill this Week
We will be having a lockdown drill this week. Like others in the past, this will be a scenario based drill. This helps make the drill more authentic for us. Students will be directed out of common areas and into locked classrooms and other locked rooms. When we conducted our drill during the first semester, I let you know via the Remind app that we had conducted a drill. With the recent events in the news, I wanted to let you know beforehand that we will be conducting a drill. I will communicate with you again once the drill has been completed via the Remind app. We will reiterate our procedures with the students. I would like you to also speak to your students about drills of this nature and why we conduct them. If you are not signed up for the Remind App alerts, please email

I know you are working hard with getting to school on time in the mornings. From time to time I do waive tardies based on traffic, weather, or other factors. I did waive tardies last Friday because we had a few cars in the line that needed extra time to unload projects and other large items. If you need to get out of your vehicle to help your student unload items, please park in the lot and walk your child to the crosswalk. This will help us keep the line moving smoothly.

8th Grade Students
Our counselor, Mrs. Williams, will be hosting an Endorsement Night for all current 8th grade students and parents. This meeting will e on Tuesday, March 6th from 4:30 to 6:30 in the Family Room in the front building. Mrs. Williams will discuss state required documents that students must have in place prior to 9th grade registration. If you are not able to attend, please contact to make an appointment to meet with her.

Spring Break is right around the corner! This is a busy week, as always, please check the school calendar at
